Makeup Revolution The One Blush Stick Matte Malibu

Makeup Revolution The One Blush Stick Matte Malibu

Hey guys. Today we are talking about a cream bronzer, the Makeup Revolution Blush stick in Matte Malibu. It ‘s obviously inspired by the very expensive Nars Multiples (30$). They have 8 shades (Malibu, Matte Malibu, Dream, Matte Dream, Rush, Matte Rush,Pink and Matte Pink). I bought mine from the Official Makeup Revolution website. I think the matte and the regular version differ in shade.

Jpeg

Introducing the One Blush Stick, 4 Bold shades and 4 Matte Shades. Use strong and vibrant, or sheer. Designed for multiple use across Cheeks and Lips, use Dry for Hi-Intensity Colour or apply Wet for a smooth sheer finish.

You get 12 grams/ 0,42 oz and it costs 9$/ 5£ but now it ‘s 50% off on MUR website. You can also get it at ULTA. The texture is very creamy and it blends fairly easily on the face. I don’t use it wet I just dot it on my cheeks and forehead, blend it with a dense synthetic brush and set it with a powder. It gives you a nice bronzey glow.

Jpeg

This shade is orangey/brown warm color that can be used for bronzing the face, it doesn’t work for contouring becouse it’s too warm. It’s very pigmented so you have to use a light hand but this stick will last you forever. Unfortunatly it’s too dark for pale skin so I wouldn’t recommend it.

Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation

Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation

Hey guys! Today I am reviewing the Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation. I have 3 out of 4 shades available so let’s go.

Jpeg

The Catrice HD Liquid Coverage foundation is a new product for the F/W 2016 season in the Catrice collection. It comes in a thick matte glass bottle with a pipette/dropper aplicator. The pipette is a good choice becouse the texture of the foundation is so liquidy so it distributes the product nicely. Catrice foundations always have great packaging for a small price and it looks expensive. You get 30 mL/1.01 fl. oz. and the PAO (period after opening) is 12 months.

Jpeg

Second Skin. The HD Liquid Coverage Foundation offers a high but natural-looking coverage, while feeling extremely lightweight – just like a second skin. Whilst providing a smooth and even complexion, the ultra-liquid texture is extremely high performing and longlasting. It covers imperfections up to 24 Hours and mattifies the skin. The extremely high definition finish is sure to make the skin beautifully even and camera ready.

I have combination skin, oily T-zone, normal cheeks, acne scars and redness and a few pimpels to cover. The coverage is medium to full. One layer gives you a good medium, if you add another layer you can cover acne, acne scars and any redness on the skin. One layer looks really good, you can tell you have foundation on but it looks thin and not cakey at all. The finish is satin/matte (it has a tiny bit of “shine” ) so it doesn’t look flat. If you use a songe to apply it you will get a bit more of that shine. I think this foundation is best applied with a dense kabuki type brush becouse it is very liquidy so the sponge (RT Miracle sponge) absorbs a lot of the product. The second layer will give you full coverage but it will look a bit more makeup-y but not cakey. I love the coverage and the finish and I wear 2 layers with the Catrice’s Prime And Fine Pore Refining And Anti-Shine Base (around 4€) . It is lightweight on the skin and lasts really good on the skin. I wore it for 9 hours and it looked great, my T-zone didn’t get shiny, it didn’t start to separate and my bronzer, highlight and blush looked amazing on top of it.

Jpeg
10 Light Beige, 30 Sand Beige, 40 Warm Beige

There are 4 shades available: 10 Light Beige, 20 Rose Beige, 30 Sand Beige and 40 Warm Beige. I have 10,30 and 40. I wear the shade 30 but 10 will be perfect in winter months. The shade selection is obviously not good, they really need to work on that. The price is around 7€/ 8$.

Sleek Barekissed Illuminator

Sleek Barekissed Illuminator

Today I am reviewing the Sleek Illuminator in the shade Monaco. This illuminator comes in 4 shades (Monaco, Cuba, Casablanca and Pompeii). You get 30 mL /1.014fl.oz.

Jpeg

From the Sleek webisite:

Achieve an envious glow with our collection of versatile liquid illuminators in four sunkissed shades.

Refresh and enhance your complexion with gorgeous light-reflecting pigments, perfect for all skin types and tones
Can be mixed with foundation or applied directly to cheekbones, brow bones and the body.

Not tested on animals.

I have it in the shade Monaco, a beigey white shimmer that gives the skin that “wet look”. It looks beautiful on the face. It blends so easily with a sponge, brush or your fingers. The shade Monaco doesn’t have much color to it unlike other shades so you can use it on the body as well (looks amazing on the shoulders).

INGREDIENTS:

Aqua, Dimethicone, Isododecane, Glycerin, PEG-10 Dimethicone, Dimethicone / Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer / Cyclopentasiloxan, PVP, Phenoxyethanol / Ethylhexylglycerin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Panthenol, Disodium EDTA, Parfum, Tin Oxide MAY CONTAIN +/-; CI 77019 ( Mica ) / CI 77891 ( Titanium Dioxide ), CI 77492 ( Iron Oxide Yellow ), CI 75470 ( Carmine ), CI 77891 ( Titanium Dioxide ), CI 77491 ( Iron Oxide Red ), CI 77499 ( Iron Oxide Black )

You can mix it with foundation and get a nice dewy look. The 4 shades are very different so I will have to get them all (I mean, why not?). Cuba is peachy, Casablanca pink and Pompeii is more bronze. You can get them on the Sleek website  for 8.99 £ / 11.50 €.

Jpeg

The texture is light and creamy, just don’t powder your foundation before applying this product becouse it can “lift” the foundation. It comes in a matte glass bottle with a matte black pump and looks classy and expensive.

Hope you liked this quick post on my favorite highlighter.

#1 Empties (makeup)

#1 Empties (makeup)

Hi guys

Today I’m going to show you my makeup empties. I have 5 product and my thoughts and experiences to share so let’s go!

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB cream  (light)

Jpeg
Maybelline Dream Fresh BB cream

It comes in a squeeze 30 ml tube with a 12 month PAO (period after opening). The BB cream has SPF 30, it comes in 5 shades.

The 1-step wonder for a good skin day, everyday.
Packed with 8 great skin benefits for instant skin perfection
Ideal for Normal Skin.

This is my second bottle, I buy it in the summer months because it’s very light in texture, the coverage is light and I hate the feeling of a heavy foundation in the summer. My only problem with this product is shade matching. The shades just don’t look good on my olive but light skin tone so I’m not going to repurchase. It’s perfect for natural looking makeup and I love the fact that it has SPF 30. I would say it’s best for normal skin, it looks good on my combo skin but just for a few hours and then it starts to get oily and fade unevenly .

Wet n Wild Coverall liquid concealer wand (light)

Jpeg
Wet n Wild Coverall liquid concealer wand

7.15 ml (0.24 fl.oz) of product in a simple packaging,18 months PAO4 shades available.

Under the covers! For those heavy-duty imperfections, we bring out the magic wand! Apply and blend this creamy formula with and watch as imperfections vanish before your eyes!

This is one of the worst concealers I have ever tried. The texture is really watery with no coverage. This shade was too pink on me, it didn’t cover anything. I can’t use it under my eyes because it doesn’t cover my dark circles and I can’t use it on my face because it does nothing in terms of covering acne or left over pigmentation. Save your money and buy something else.

Real Tehniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

Jpeg
RT Miracle Complexion Sponge

This is my favorite tool to apply foundation except maybe the Makeup Revolution foundation brush that came in a set. Amazing quality, very easy to use and clean. I clean it with a regular bar soap and it works just fine. The sponge is affordable and it’s well made (it doesn’t fall apart in a few months). This one lasted for a long time, on the RT site it said to replace it every 1-3 months but I keep mine for approx 6 months. As soon as I threw this one away I bought 2 more. Great affordable tool!

This versatile beauty tool was designed with a revolutionary foam technology to evenly blend makeup for a smooth, enhanced finish. Use damp for a dewy glow or dry for a full coverage.

Manhattan Dip Eyeliner Waterproof (black)

Jpeg
Manhattan Dip Eyeliner

Manhattan Dip Eyeliner is a  hard “sponge” tip eyeliner. This was my second one, it performs well but it’s not the best eyeliner ever. The staying power is average (it will get you trough the day), it is waterproof but I have oily eyelids so every eyeliner ends up smudging on me. I won’t repurchase because I want to try something else. If you have a drugstore favorite let me know (it has to be waterproof).  This eyeliner comes in 3 more shades.

New-formula perfection, extremely long-lasting, gives perfect coverage and is absolutely waterproof, special applicator ensures easy, precise application, easy to remove with eye make-up remover.

Essence Long Lasting Lipstick (natural beauty)

Jpeg
Essence Long Lasting lipstick

This is an average quality lipstick with a cream finish. It lasts 2-3 hours on me without eating or drinking. The shades are pretty and the lipstick is very affordable but I like matte finish on my lips so I won’t repurchase. The texture is light and comfortable on the lips, pigmentation is good enough (I only have this one shade so I don’t know how the other shades perform). The shade Natural Beauty is a really nice every day rosy color and they have another 16 shades in the range. If you like creamy lipsticks and affordable makeup you should try them.

The lipsticks provide your lips with intensive color for several hours without drying them out. you’re sure to find whatever you’re looking for – from bright pink to intensive red and chilled-out berry to subtle nude shades. the essence logo on the texture and the matte, black packaging with a ring of color to match the actual color of the lipstick are true eye-catchers

Hope you liked my empties, tell me what you think.

Favorite Lip Liners

Favorite Lip Liners

Hi guys

Today I’m going to show you my favorite affordable lip liners. I love lip liners and I use them every time I put make up on. They give me the definition and fullness I need (especially on my top lip). I like to wear them with or without lipstick on top, they prolong the wear time of your lipstick and they keep it in place. Lip liners are one of my favorite make up items in general so let me show you my must haves.

ESSENCE LIP LINERS

The cool lip liner colors ensure clear contours and beautiful, shapely lips. a practical effect: the lip liner is smudge-proof and especially long-lasting.

Ingredients: C10-18 TRIGLYCERIDES, TALC, HYDROGENATED VEGETABLE OIL, CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, RHUS SUCCEDANEA FRUIT WAX, TOCOPHEROL, ASCORBYL PALMITATE, CI 77491, CI 77499 (IRON OXIDES), CI 77742 (MANGANESE VIOLET), CI 77891 (TITANIUM DIOXIDE)

Essence lip liners are really easy to apply, smooth, not drying, creamy and pigmented and affordable. They come in 8 shades (I have 2).Jpeg

Satin Mauve – probably my favorite lip liner ever, I love the shade (medium cool tone mauve), perfect for that 90’s lip look, will definitely repurchase (this is my third one).

Jpeg

In The Nude – a really nice nude shade, goes well with dramatic or dark smokey eye

Jpeg
In the Nude and Satin Mauve

CATRICE LIP LINERS

The ideal preparation for fashion lips: the Long lasting Lip Pencil sets colour limits and prevents lipstick as well as gloss from streaking. Its waterproof texture guarantees ultra long lasting contours. And the creamy tip softly glides over your lips to ensure an accurate application.

Ingredients: ETHYLHEXYL PALMITATE, MICA, CANDELILLA (EUPHORBIA CERIFERA) WAX, CARNAUBA (COPERNICIA CERIFERA) WAX, CERESIN, CERA MICROCRISTALLINA (MICROCRYSTALLINE WAX), SYNTHETIC WAX, TOCOPHEROL, ASCORBYL PALMITATE, CI 15850 (RED 6 LAKE / RED 7 LAKE), CI 19140 (YELLOW 5 LAKE), CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499 (IRON OXIDES), CI 77891 (TITANIUM DIOXIDE).

Catrice lip liners are much harder (not as creamy), waterproof, very long lasting and a bit drying on the lips but very pigmented. You can definitely feel them on the lips. I don’t mind the dry feeling but I know a lot of people don’t like it. They are easy to use and they stay in place for hours. They come in 12 shades (I have 3).

  1. That’s What Rose Wood Do! – every day dusty pink, goes with any look you do, it looks better on me when I’m a bit paler. I will definitely repurchase.
  2. Vintage Rose – browny-pink nude, it gives you the 90’s lips look, probably my most worn lip liner in the last few weeks, will definitely repurchase
  3. Plumplona Ole – not too dark plum with a slight violet undertone, goes with any dark wine red or plum lipstick, I wear it mostly in fall/winter months, beautiful shade
Jpeg
Plumplona Ole, Vintage Rose and That’s What Rose Wood do!

MAX FACTOR COLOUR ELIXIR LIP LINERS

Our firm and gentle liner is soft on your lips, giving you great definition with conditioning colour.

Ingredients: Cyclopentasiloxane, Paraffin, Mica, Polybutene, C11-12 Isoparaffin, Hydrogenated Cottonseed Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil, Ceresin, Ozokerite, Microcristallina Cera, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Propylparaben, [+/- CI15850, CI 19140, CI 42090, CI 45410, CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499, CI 77891]

These are highly pigmented, soft, comfortable and long lasting. They are a bit more expensive than Catrice or Essence. 4 shades are available, I have 2. If you can’t find these, Max Factor and Covergirl are sister brands so a lot of their products should be similar.

Max Factor lip liners.jpg

  1. Brown n Nude – a brown based nude, great nude for medium skin tones, I wear it in the summer mostly. I will repurchase
  2. Red Blush – beautiful raspberry shade, would suit most skin tones, a great pop of not too bright color on the lips, would repurchase

DIY Primer water / Charged water

DIY Primer water / Charged water

Hi guys

I like to find inexpensive alternatives to many high end makeup products and test them. If I find them helpful or good enough I will share them with you so we can all enjoy them without spending our whole paychecks on makeup.

I have found this recipe 7 months ago and been using it on and off for 6 months. I never tried the original primer water or the charged water so this won’t be a comparison and I can’t call this a dupe but I think it’s a good primer to try if you are curious about this kind of product. It’s really easy and affordable.

R E C I P E (120 ml = 4 oz)  Shake well before use!

a spray bottle

3 tablespoons ALCOHOL FREE Witch Hazel (reduces swelling, antibacterial)

2 tablespoons Glycerin (smoothes and hydrates)

5 tablespoons Distilled Water

This primer is lightweight, it hydrates and smoothes the skin. It doesn’t fill in your pores but it’s great underneath heavy foundations. It prolongs my makeup for a few hours and it is important not to use too much because it can get heavy on the skin.

And that’s it! Enjoy your primer water, let me know if you tried it and did you like it. Do you want more DIYs ?

How to choose perfect hair color

How to choose perfect hair color

Hello there 🙂

Today I’m going to show you how to choose a perfect hair color for yourself. I’m sure you all have heard about matching your hair color to your skin undertone. People with warm skin undertone have yellow tone to it. They are tanning very quickly and easily and it’s hard for them to get sunburns. On the other hand, people with cold undertone have pink tone to their skin and are completely opposite when it comes to tanning. Still, there are many common mistakes that I’m going to show you how to avoid.

Brown-Hair-with-Dark-Eyebrows

Pay attention to your eyebrows!  If you have thick and 138bdae505477c869f2d7a6573c6d598dark eyebrows, go with color just a shade or two lighter than your natural hair color. If you wish to go lighter than that, go for balayage or ombre hair to make it look more natural. It may look great on photographs to have blonde hair and strong, black eyebrows but in reality, it will consume a lot of time and effort to make it wearable every day and it could make you look manly. Look like that requires a lot of makeup and skill to pull it off.

MTE5NDg0MDYzMjE3MTkwNDE1If you have light or thin eyebrows you can go as light as you wish. But never go a lot darker than your eyebrows. You will have to dye your eyebrows and fill them in all the time. Which means you will make mistakes very often, especially early in the morning, while in rush. Simplify your life, just go with lighter hair colors.

tumblr_n44wcqupqx1tyd07zo1_500

Of course you may break rules as long as you are confident enough to pull it off . So if you’re feeling brave and confident today, go ahead, get that crazy color on 😉

Let me know if the article was helpful for you in the comments.

Love, Angie :*

Customize Your Foundation

Customize Your Foundation

Hey guys

I have ten or so foundations in rotation through the year, but not every foundation I own is as yellow as I need it to be. So I’m going to show you how I change the undertone and shade of my foundation. It’s really simple and now you can finish all of the wrong color foundations that are sitting in your makeup drawer. Let’s begin.

CHANGING THE UNDERTONE

Food coloring

The easiest way I have found is food coloring. I only tried it with yellow so I don’t know if this works with  pink or  red color. Food coloring is cheap and very pigmented, if you add too much you will turn your foundation orange, so be careful. Some girls like to add it to the foundation bottle and then shake it well, but I like to mix the foundation and a drop of food coloring at the back of my hand and then apply it to my face. It’s your choice. Try mixing it a few times before application so you can figure out how much you need. The foundation I’m using for this tutorial is the L’oreal Paris Infallible 24 Hour Matte foundation in 20 Sand and yellow food coloring I found at home.

20160426_160049.jpg

I added too much food coloring so you can clearly see the difference.

Jpeg
This is the before and after food coloring was added (the foundation is more pink in real life)

HOW TO LIGHTEN/DARKEN YOUR FOUNDATION

This can be achieved using pigments. Mine are from Alverde but I know The Body Shop, NYX, Manic Panic and others make them. All you need to do is add couple of drops of the right pigment to your foundation on the back of your hand and mix well.

Jpeg
These are the pigments I use

That’s all from me, I hope you liked it. Do you need to change your foundation or do you find a good match at the drugstore? Leave me a comment 🙂

Eyebrow Tip

Hey guys!

I’m sure you all know the brow struggle. You know, when you try to use your pomade or any product with a similar consistency and end up with a Sharpie brow? Yeah, I’m not really good at the whole ˝natural brows using pomade-type product thing˝… or so I thought.

My problem wasn’t the pomade but the brush I was using with it! I always see the angled brush being used for pomades but I haven’t found one that is thin enough to do the job. My EcoTools angled brush gives me perfect brows with an eyebrow powder but it’s just too thick to handle a pomade. So I found a teeny-tiny eyeliner brush by BH Cosmetics in my collection. It came in a big makeup brush set and I never used it. It’s small enough so you can make hair-like strokes and make the brow look more natural.

The pomade I use is the Freedom Eyebrow Pomade in Ash brown.

20160420_124330 (1).jpg

Let me know which brush you’re using with pomades and what’s your favorite brow product.
